Pretoria - The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) has lashed out again at the leadership of the Congress of SA Trade Union (Cosatu), claiming that it has a master plan to paralyse the union federation.
"The master plan is paralyse Cosatu and get rid of Vavi and expel Numsa," said Numsa president Andrew Chirwa on Monday.
Numsa deputy general secretary Karl Cloete said there was a plan to establish another metalworkers' union.
"Cosatu knows there must be a metalworkers [union] within the federation when Numsa is expelled."
Numsa responded to Cosatu with a 54-page document explaining why it should not suspended or expelled.
Chirwa also had harsh words for the ANC.
He accused the ANC of failing to improve the lives on the working class. He claimed that the ruling party simply replaced white capital with black capital.
He also that said Cosatu's top brass are pre-occupied with sex scandals to the extent that they violated the union federation's constitution.
