Workers in the leather tanning sector have settled for a 7% pay rise, the SA Clothing and Textile Workers' Union (Sactwu) said on Friday.
The increase came into effect on Friday for about 2300 workers in the sector.
The deal was in line with a two-year wage agreement reached last year between Sactwu and the tanning sector employers.
Sactwu co-ordinator Lawrence Xola said the negotiations began last year.
"The negotiations were difficult but we were able to reach an agreement," he said.
