USB again ranked in top 3 in Africa

Cape Town - The University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) has for the eighth consecutive year been ranked as one of the top three excellent business schools in Africa.

This was as part of the 2015 Eduniversal global survey. The rankings are the result of voting by deans of more than a 100 business schools from around the world, based on a list of criteria.

Commenting on this achievement, USB director Piet Naudé said: "In the academic environment, we work on the basis of peer review. This is a rigorous form of quality assurance. The fact that such a large proportion of business school deans around the globe rated USB so highly fills us with humility and gratitude."

On October 12, the official results of the Eduniversal Ranking of the best 1 000 business schools in 154 countries will be announced during the Eduniversal annual gala dinner awards ceremony. At this event, USB will be presented with a Five Palmes award.

Naudé added that the ranking confirms USB's standing on the African continent. "This we will use to play an empowering role in South Africa and on the rest of the continent. We are indeed proud to be an African business school of global repute," he said.

Having celebrated 50 years of providing business education in 2014, USB was the first African business school to achieve the triple crown international accreditation from all three major accreditation bodies, namely AACSB (United States), Amba (Association of MBAs) and Equis (Europe). The school is currently the only African business school who holds the highest level of Equis accreditation, which is five years.
