Washington - US growth surged to its highest level in 11 years in the third quarter, according to an updated government estimate released on Tuesday.
Gross domestic product (GDP) increased 5% between July and September, the rate up 1.1 percentage points compared to the second quarter.
Analysts had expected growth of 4.3%.
