London - Britain's unemployment rate fell to 5.8% in the three months to November, official figures released on Wednesday showed.
It was the first time in six years that the jobless rate has dipped back below 6%.
There were 1.91 million unemployed people, 58 000 fewer than for the previous quarter, the Office for National Statistics said in a release.
Wage growth remained above the 0.5% inflation rate, with average earnings rising by 1.7% in the year to November.
