Cape Town - Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai said after meeting President Kgalema Motlanthe in his Cape Town
office on Friday that there will be no "randification" of the Zimbabwean currency.
He told a media briefing after the meeting which was attended by both finance ministers - Trevor Manuel and Tendai Biti - that multiple sources of foreign currency will be used to support the economy of the beleaguered
country.
"It is a multi-currency," he said. "We are not specifically focusing on the rand." He suggested that there may be a different decision that would be made "at the appropriate time", which would fix on how best to rehabilitate
