Johannesburg - The SA Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica) on Friday urged taxpayers to use specialist help in completing their tax returns.

"Help is at hand and people who consult with professional tax practitioners are more likely to avoid penalties and be confident that the information they give will be correct and in their best interests," said Saica spokesman Piet Nel in a statement.

Saica's Tax Suite portal, www.taxsuite.co.za, lists contact details of tax consultants.

"Taxpayers will also be able to find tax specialist who operate in their area and who can help with their particular problem."

Taxpayers could save money and comply with tax regulations by using a specialist, he said.
