Johannesburg - South Africa’s main fuel sector union will meet employers on Tuesday in a bid to end a two-week strike that has hit fuel supplies, a union official said on Monday.
Talks are scheduled for Tuesday morning, said John Appolis, spokesperson for the Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union.
“We have tabled our revised demands on Friday, so we are expecting them to return to the table and come up with a new offer,” he said.
The union is asking for a 9.5% rise in wages, while employers have offered 8%.
