Johannesburg - A survey among 2 000 adults in the Gauteng
metropolitan areas showed that a third of people believe the road pothole
problem is being reduced, said TNS Research Surveys on Wednesday.
The biggest improvement was noted by Soweto residents - where
40% believed the pothole situation was getting better - and the West Rand, with 43%
agreeing, said TNS director Neil Higgs.
In the Vaal Triangle only 12% of people surveyed believed
the situation had improved.
In Johannesburg, excluding Soweto, 29% saw an
improvement.
The study was conducted in all seven major metropolitan areas in February.
