He was responding to attacks on the political party made by the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa).
On Monday, Numsa announced that it is severing ties with the ruling alliance comprising the ANC, the Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) and the South African Communist Party (SACP).
It added that it will launch a socialist united front as soon as December.
"Since 1994, the working class and the poor have had and continue to have confidence, trust and faith in the leadership of the ANC," said Kodwa.
"The ANC remains committed to implementing the Election Manifesto our people voted for in their overwhelming numbers in 2014 and previous General Elections. "
He said the ANC will not be deterred from build unity of the Tripartite Alliance and workers in particular.
"We are resolute in our determination to deliver on the commitments made to the masses of our people, including on the national minimum wage."
