Sassa offices close at 4pm, but the agency promises all those in the premises by then will receive assistance.
Appointment letters will be issued to anyone else who will not have been helped today. These cases will be attended to by May 3 2013.
However, there is no need to panic and overcrowd Sassa offices as your grant will not be stopped if you have not yet re-registered.
From May 1, Sassa will send letters requesting all beneficiaries who have not yet
re-registered to do so within 90 days of the issue of this reminder.
This will be your last chance, as your grant will be suspened if you fail to respond to this call.
If you are too frail or sick to re-register in person, you need to send a relative to your nearest Sassa office to request a home visit for re-registration up until May 31.
You will need the following documents to re-register:
- Original bar-coded RSA identity document
- Original birth certificate/identity document of child or children
- Sassa's letter of grant award for 7777 IDs
- Court order for foster child grants (optional)
If you are experiencing any payment problems, you can call any one of the following numbers for assistance:
- 0800 60 10 11
- 0800 60 01 60
- (012) 400 2322
