Sharp drop in debt judgments

Johannesburg - Civil judgments for debt in June 2011 were down 27% year-on-year, Statistics SA said on Thursday.

"During June 2011, 45 128 civil judgments for debt amounting to R478.9m were recorded," Stats SA said in a report.

The value of civil judgments recorded for debt had dropped by 18% year-on-year.
