Johannesburg - Security guards, whose 2006 strike left 60 dead and caused
millions of rands in damages, reached an agreement with businesses
on Wednesday.
The agreement gives an 11.5% salary increase to the
lowest earning security guards as well as a per-shift premium for
certain security guards.
The agreement was reached at the Commission for Conciliation,
Mediation and Arbitration offices in Johannesburg.
Labour and businesses expressed happiness at the agreement.
