Johannesburg - South Africa's trade deficit narrowed to R7.71bn in June from R11.03bn in May, the South African Revenue Service said on Wednesday.
Exports in June rose 3.4% from a month before to R2.24bn, while imports fell 2.0% to R1.58bn.
Economists had expected a bigger shortfall of R9.1bn in the trade account.
The cumulative deficit for the year now stands at R75.94bn, compared with R51.58bn in 2012.
