Cape Town – Unilever has been ranked the number one top employer in South Africa for a second year in a row, with Accenture and EY making up the top three.
It was no easy feat, as competition for top talent is gaining ground in South Africa, according to global HR certifier, the Top Employers Institute (TEI).
Old Mutual was in fourth spot followed by Microsoft (5th), SAP Africa (6th), Tata Consultancy Services (7th), Coca-Cola South Africa (8th), Kimberly-Clark of South Africa (9th) and in joint tenth position – the first time that two companies have achieved identical scores - is Sasol and Clicks.
“Our extensive research concluded that the certified employers provide their people with excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation and strive to continuously optimise employment practices,” said TEI CEO David Plink.
“They can truly call themselves Top Employers, an accomplishment worthy of great pride, trust and celebration.”
Unilever’s vice president of HR for South and Southern Africa, Antoinette Irvine, said: “Being named the number one Top Employer cements Unilever’s position as the employer of choice in South Africa and we are really excited about achieving this fantastic recognition.”
