Johannesburg - Growth in South Africa's retail sales slowed to 2.8% year-on-year (y/y) in March from a revised 3.9%in February, Statistics South Africa said on Wednesday.
On a month-on-month basis, sales were down by 0.9% in March but increased by 3% in the three months to the end of March compared with the same period in the previous year.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected sales growth to slow to 2.4% in March, year-on-year.
