Johannesburg - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves dipped to $42.145bn in January from $42.727bn in December, data from the SA Reserve Bank (Sarb) showed on Friday.
Gross reserves were also lower at $47.611bn from $49.102bn, but the forward position, which represents Sarb's unsettled or swap transactions, rose to $2.632bn from $1.975bn.
