Johannesburg - Net gold and foreign exchange reserves fell to $41.519bn in May from $41.934bn in April, data from the South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) showed on Friday.
Gross reserves also decreased, to $46.446bn from $47.043bn previously but the forward position, which represents Sarb's unsettled or swap transactions, rose to 2.671 from $2.634bn.
