Johannesburg - South Africa’s net gold and foreign exchange
reserves rose slightly to $47.936bn at the end of June from $47.672bn in May,
data from the Reserve Bank showed on Friday.
Gross reserves went up to $49.218bn in June from $48.907bn the previous month while the forward position, which represents the bank’s unsettled spot or swap transactions, slipped to $6.221bn from $6.270bn in May.
