Johannesburg - South Africa and China will work together on labour issues, Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant said on Thursday.
The country could learn a lot from China about collective bargaining, industrial relations, inspections, enforcement services, and social protection, she said in a statement.
"Previously, we have worked with China on the training of inspectors. We have indicated that we can learn from employment services while they have indicated a need to study our social protection like the work we are doing at the Unemployment Insurance Fund."
Oliphant met Xiaochu Wang, Chinese deputy minister of human resources in social security, on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
