RTCM, unions reach pay deal

Johannesburg - A pay deal has been struck between the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), and unions Nehawu and Popcru, they said on Friday.

The agreement resolved long-standing matters, laid a foundation for the future, and finalised salary negotiations for 2013/2014, they said.

The salary adjustments, which would be backdated to April 1, were an 8% increase for levels one to seven employees, 7.5% for levels eight to 10, and 7% for levels 11 and 12.

It also makes for provision for an increase in the housing allowance from R900 to R1200 a month and an increase in the danger allowance for all operational members from R338 to R457.

With effect from November 15, salaries will be paid on the 15th of each month and allowances on the last day of the month.
