Public office bearers to get raise

Pretoria - The Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers is recommending a 7% increase in total remuneration packages of all public office bearers for 2010/11 fiscal year, Judge Willie Seriti said at a media briefing in Pretoria on Friday.

He recommended that President Jacob Zuma earn R2 412 561, an increase of R157 831.

A minister will earn R1 845 639 and a deputy minister R1 519 923 if the recommendations are accepted.
