Pretoria - South Africa and Botswana have put into effect 34 agreements on co-operation in several sectors, International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said on Thursday.
These included transport, immigration, defence and security, energy, trade, and the environment, she said at the closing of a bi-national commission headed by President Jacob Zuma and his Botswana counterpart Ian Khama.
"The leaders noted with great appreciation the progress made in the implementation of 34 agreements signed between the two countries," she said.
The two countries held three-day talks in Pretoria. The commission ended on Thursday.
Nkoana-Mashabane said the two countries acknowledged the ongoing Kampala talks in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"The two heads of state also expressed concern over the unfolding security situation in Mozambique and expressed hope that the situation would soon be resolved."
The next commission would take place in Botswana at a date still to be set.
