Johannesburg - There could be power cuts over the Easter weekend as the system was still "constrained", Eskom said on Friday.
Any extra demand or faults would result in load shedding, the utility warned in a statement.
It would get worse once the weekend ended.
“The system will become extremely constrained at the beginning of next week, when businesses and industry resume operations after the long weekend.”
Eskom said it continued to make progress with its programme of planned maintenance, and urged people to use less electricity.
Available capacity was expected to outstrip demand until Tuesday, when the situation would be reversed.
