Johannesburg - The price of petrol 93 ULP and LRP petrol will rise by 4c per litre, while the price of petrol 95 ULP and LRP will increase by 5c per litre on Wednesday next week.
The energy department on Friday said the wholesale price of diesel with a 0.05% sulphur content would drop by 3c per litre, as would diesel with a 0.005% sulphur content.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin would decline by 1c per litre, while the single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin would also drop by 1c per litre.
A litre of 95 ULP in Gauteng would now cost R8.12.
During the period under review - August 27 to September 30 - the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased, the department said.
The average rand/dollar exchange rate for the period under review was 7.1859, compared to 7.3178 during the previous period.
The government also recently approved implementation of a retail market increase of 8.5c per litre into petrol price structures, with effect from October 6.
