Johannesburg - South Africa's headline producer inflation slowed to 6.3% year-on-year in October from 6.7% in September, Statistics South Africa said on Thursday.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected PPI to only slow to 6.5%.
Prices at the factory gate rose by 0.5% on a month-on-month basis in October compared with 0.4% previously, against market forecasts of 0.6%.
