Johannesburg - South African producer inflation, which represents domestic output, slowed to 6.6% year-on-year in April from 7.2% in March, Statistics South Africa said on Thursday.
On a month-on-month basis inflation was at 0.3% after prices fell by 0.1% in March.
Economists polled by Reuters expected PPI to slow to 6.9% year-on-year and to quicken to 0.5% on a monthly basis.
