A pay rise of R2 per hour for petrol attendants has been secured, Numsa general secretary Irvin Jim told reporters in Kempton Park.
He said this meant workers would get a 11.6% increase.
"If we had not signed (today) the minister (Mildred Oliphant) would not have been able to sign off immediately on the increase... That would have meant that the increase would have only been effective in November," he said.
While workers were expected to return back to work on Monday, Jim said employees should be lenient on workers who could only report for duty on Tuesday.
However, Jim said the strike in the vehicle industry was not over as a settlement had not yet been reached.
