Johannesburg - NUM shop stewards will meet in Johannesburg on Tuesday to discuss the 7% wage increase offered by Eskom, the union said on Sunday.
"The meeting is meant to provide feedback from across Eskom operations on the acceptability or unacceptability of the 7% Eskom offer as well as to map a way forward," National Union of Mineworkers energy sector co-ordinator Job Matsepe said in a statement.
The NUM wanted a 14% wage increase, a higher housing allowance and deferred bonuses and company shares - to which the board of directors was entitled - be extended to ordinary workers.
Eskom offered workers a 7% increase after the NUM rejected a 5.5% increase last month.
Eskom was still hopeful of reaching a settlement, spokesperson Hillary Joffe said on Sunday.
"That 7% is the offer we have made... However, we are willing to entertain further negotiations," she said.
