Cape Town - The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that the petrol price will remain the same, while the price of diesel and other fuels will decrease next Wednesday.
According to a statement by the DOE, fuel price adjustments are informed by international and local factors.
"International factors include the fact that South Africa imports both crude oil and finished products at a price set by the global markets, including shipping costs.
"The main factors contributing to these price adjustments is the average increase in the crude oil and petrol prices internationally and the slightly weaker Rand during April 2015 compared to March 2015," it said.
The fuel prices for May 2015 will be adjusted as follows:
1. Diesel will decrease by 5 cents/ litre
2. Petrol will remain unchanged.
3. Illuminating paraffin will decrease by 7 cents per litre
4. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will decrease by 17 cents per kilogram
