Cape Town - Prices at SA's petrol pumps may rise by up to 78
cents next month, after a 22c increase in August.
This is the result of rising oil prices, which have been
pushed higher by supply issues and improved consumer confidence in the US.
The petrol price is adjusted on a month to month basis,
based on movements in a basket of international oil products, according to
Business Report.
Oil was trading at $114.43 per barrel on Tuesday.
The extent of the increase was indicated by the average
under-recovery on local fuel, which was just over 78c, the report said.
The increase could lead to motorists paying up to
R11.47/litre in coastal areas, and R11.82/litre in Gauteng.
