Johannesburg - The retail price of petrol will rise by between 37c to 40c a litre next week, the minerals and energy department said on Friday.
Petrol 93 ULP & LRP will rise by 37c per litre while petrol
95 ULP and LRP will rise by 40c a litre.
Petrol 95 ULP in Gauteng will now cost R7.90 a litre, the
department added.
The wholesale price of diesel with a 0.05% sulphur
content will rise by 40c a litre.
Diesel with a 0.005% sulphur content will rise by 40C a litre.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will increase by 46c a litre and the single maximum national retail price for
illuminating paraffin will rise by 62c a litre.
The department said that during the period under review (May 29
to June 25), the average international product prices of petrol,
diesel and illuminating paraffin had increased.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period under
review was 8.1093 compared to 8.4371 during the previous period.
