Mminele stays on as Sarb deputy governor

Cape Town - President Jacob Zuma has reappointed Daniel Mminele as a deputy governor of the South African Reserve Bank (Sarb), said presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj on Friday.

The reappointment will come into effect from July 1 2014 and last fpr a period of five years.

It was made in terms of section 4 (1) (a), read with section 5(1) (a) of the Sarb Act, 1989.

"Mminele was initially appointed as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank for a period of five years with effect from July 1 2009.

Zuma congratulated Mminele and wished him well in the role.
