Johannesburg - The possibility of a rate cut formed a major part of the monetary policy committee's (MPC's) discussions and at least one of the members felt quite strongly in favour of this, Reserve Bank governor Gill Marcus said on Thursday.
"But the overwhelming majority were in favour of the (repo) rate remaining unchanged," she said in answer to a question at the conclusion of the MPC's three-day meeting in Pretoria.
