Johannesburg - Three senior officials in the economic development department have quit since the start of the year, it was reported on Wednesday.
Business Day reported that Saul Levin, a chief director working with development finance institutions, tendered his resignation at the beginning of the month.
Chief financial officer Zweli Momeja and legal section head Bernadetta Tabane quit last month.
The department is understood to have a vacancy rate of about 40%.
Business Day said it submitted questions to the department, which falls under Minister Ebrahim Patel, on Friday, but had received no response by Tuesday evening.
