Johannesburg - National Planning Minister Trevor Manuel has been appointed as the co-chair of an international green fund, The Star reported on Tuesday.
He would co-chair a 40-member committee to design the $100bn Green Climate Fund, which was set up after the Cancun climate summit in December, his spokesperson Dumisani Jele told the newspaper.
The committee was set to met on Thursday and Friday in Mexico City.
Jele said the position was part-time and would not interfere in Manuel's ministerial duties.
