Johannesburg - President Thabo Mbeki said poor corporate governance and a lack of skills were major concerns and were hampering service delivery at the Ilembe district municipality in KwaZulu-Natal, the SABC reported.
Mbeki was interacting with mayors and ward councillors during an imbizo in the area.
Among other challenges raised by councillors were poor financial controls and poor planning around service delivery programmes.
