Johannesburg - Satawu general secretary Randall Howard has resigned to take up
a post in government, the labour union said on Thursday.
He began working as labour adviser in the ministry of public
services and administration on October 1, said Ezrom Mabyana,
president of the SA Transport and Allied Workers Union.
Howard has been involved in labour unions for 23 years, nine of
which as Satawu's general secretary.
Last month, he received the Congress of SA Trade Unions' award
for the longest serving national office bearer.
Satawu is scheduled to elect Howard's successor next month.
