Khayelitsha man makes Forbes list

Johannesburg - A Cape Town man has earned himself a spot on the Forbes Magazine’s 30 under-30 Africa’s best young entrepreneurs list, the Cape Argus reported on Thursday.

Sizwe Nzima, 21, graduated from the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development in 2012 and now runs Iyeza Express.

His business in Khayelitsha uses bicycles to deliver chronic medication to people.

Forbes called it an "innovative enterprise", according to the Cape Argus report on IOL.com.

Nzima reportedly employed four men who used bicycles to collect and deliver chronic medication from public hospitals and clinics. They then delivered this to clients’ doorsteps on prescribed dates. The clients paid a minimum R10 fee per collection.

Nzima began by delivering and collecting medication for his grandparents, and now had more than 250 clients. According to the newspaper, he hoped to expand locally and even nationally.

"My clients appreciate the privilege of their medication and other things being delivered while they’re busy with their own responsibilities. Some old people really feel that they are taken care of, considering their critical health problems," he told the Cape Argus.
