Durban - The chief financial officers of KwaZulu-Natal's 61 municipalities will get the sack if they cannot prove that they have the required qualifications, co-operative governance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube said on Thursday.
Dube said they would be axed by September next year if they could not prove their qualifications.
"The buck must stop somewhere and when it comes to municipal finances it must stop with CFOs.
"It is our intention to ensure that those responsible for gross incompetence or a lack of commitment bear the consequences," said Dube-Ncube.
