Johannesburg – Inflation expectations have remained unchanged at 6.1% during the second quarter‚ the third consecutive quarter that expectations remained steady‚ a Bureau of Economic Research (BER) survey released on Thursday showed.
The latest survey points to a fairly stable inflation outlook.
Respondents lowered their 2013 inflation forecast by 0.1 percentage point to 6.0%‚ the same level it was at during the fourth quarter of 2011‚ and raised their 2014 forecasts from 6.0% previously to 6.1%.
On average‚ respondents expect inflation to move largely sideways from 6.1% in 2012 to 6.0% in 2013‚ and back to 6.1% in 2014.
