Johannesburg - Consumer price inflation
(CPI) eased further to 4.9% in July, Statistics South Africa said on
Wednesday.
"The official inflation rate (the
percentage change in the CPI for all urban areas in July 2012
compared with that in July 2011) was 4.9% at July 2012," the
agency said in a brief statement.
This rate was 0.6% lower than the
corresponding annual rate of 5.5% in June.
Inflation has been on a downward trend
since April this year, when it reached 6.1%.
