Jakarta - Indonesia's economic growth in 2014 slipped to the lowest level in five years, the government said on Thursday.
The country's gross domestic product grew 5.0% in 2014 over the previous year, the Central Bureau of Statistics said.
President Joko Widodo, who came to power in October, has pledged to improve infrastructure and attract more investment to boost the economy, which has slowed in recent years after a period of rapid expansion.
A protracted election season last year prompted businesses to hold off investment in south-east Asia's largest economy.
