London - India was again the single biggest buyer of South African coal in August, lifting 1.3 million tonnes from Richards Bay Coal Terminal, 22% of total August 5.5 million tonnes exports, industry sources said.
Throughout this year India has taken 22% to 34% of South Africa's monthly exports, so far around 11 million tonnes.
South Africa is expected to export 60 million tonnes in 2009, down from 67 in 2008.
