Johannesburg - There will be a shortage in liquid petroleum gas (LPG) supply in the Western Cape during March and April, the SA Chamber of Business (Sacob) said on Wednesday.
Sacob president Deidre Penfold said businesses were informed that the Chevron refinery, where the gas was being sourced, would undergo maintenance from the middle of March until April.
"Supplies to the Western Cape will have to be secured from other inland areas and from imports," said Penfold.
"
Faced with this situation, forward planning by LPG users will be essential."
She said businesses in the province would meet gas suppliers to ensure minimal disruption to LPG use.
