The board's annual report was tabled in Parliament on Wednesday.
This year's figure is up from R9.918bn in 2004/05.
Board chairperson Chris Fismer said the bulk of this was from the casinos with a small contribution from horseracing and betting, limited payment machines and bingo.
He said there was no finality on a report on online gambling which remained illegal.
However, he said it was important to create a regulated environment and to establish control advertisements on the internet.
