Johannesburg - The petrol strike will not affect the Durban
Airshow, the organisers said on Wednesday.
"We were concerned about the availability of aviation fuel because of industrial action in the fuel sector, but we have secured adequate fuel for the event and the show will gone on as planned (on Saturday)," said spokesperson Ray de Vries.
The organisers were confident there would be no hassles, he
said.
About 70 000 fuel workers from the Chemical, Energy, Paper,
Printing, Wood, and Allied Workers Union and the General Industries Workers
Union of SA are on strike.
They are demanding a minimum salary of R6 000 a month and a 40-hour working week.
