Johannesburg - The retail price of petrol will rise next week, the energy department said on Friday.
The price of all grades of petrol will increase in price by 18c a litre.
The wholesale price of diesel with a 0.05% sulphur
content will rise by 10c a litre.
Diesel with a 0.005% sulphur content will increase in
price also by 10c a litre.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will rise by 5c a litre and the single maximum national retail price for
illuminating paraffin will increase by 6c a litre.
According to the energy department, average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased from December 31 to January 28.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate strengthened, compared to the previous period.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period under
review was 7.4735 compared to 7.5236 during the previous period.
Petrol in Gauteng will cost R8.04 a litre, and
R7.81 at the coast.
