Johannesburg - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves fell to $47.948bn at the end of December from $48.431bn in November, data from the Reserve Bank showed on Tuesday.
Gross reserves dipped to $50.735bn in December from $50.813bn in November while the forward position, which represents the bank's unsettled spot or swap transactions, was also lower at $5.234bn from $5.32bn in November.
