Johannesburg - Foreigners were net
buyers of R283.650m South African shares in the week ended Aug 3
after net purchases of R263.119m of local shares the week before‚
according to figures released by the JSE Limited [JSE:JSE].
Foreigners bought R11.147bn worth of shares and sold R10.864bn of shares last week.
In the week ended Aug 5‚ 2011‚ foreigners were net sellers of R2.716bn worth of local shares.
In the year to date‚ foreigners have been net sellers of R685.183m worth of local shares‚ compared with net sales of R2.794bn for the corresponding period in 2011.
For 2011‚ foreigners were net sellers of R17.184bn worth of local shares‚ compared with net purchases of R36.410bn for 2010.
In 2009 foreigners were net buyers of R75.418bn worth of shares compared with net sales of R54.439bn worth of shares in 2008.
